Terms and Conditions

South African Secrets Terms & Conditions apply to any business transactions arising from South African Secrets as set out below.

1 Reservations are confirmed upon receipt of the deposit amount and paid to the supplier. Once deposits for accommodation have been received and processed they are non-refundable as per our supplier’s terms & conditions.

2 Final settlement of the services is required no later than 60 days prior to the commencement date of the itinerary. Any cancellations 60 days or less from the commencement date of the itinerary will be as per the terms & conditions of the specific suppliers

3 While South African Secrets makes every effort to engage quality suppliers among the hotels, tour operators and other service providers to provide the travel products making up the Tour featured. And to ensure that the various services making up the Tour will be carried out efficiently and as specified, we do not have direct control over the provision of services by suppliers and shall not be liable for any loss, damage, injury, additional cost, accident, delay, irregularity that may be occasioned by any error or default, act or omission of any supplier in carrying out the arrangements of the Tour, or otherwise in connection therewith.

4 Changes, omissions or delays before or during the course of the Tour occasioned by technical difficulties, weather conditions, communication breakdowns or events beyond the control of South African Secrets; any cancellation or curtailment of the Tour as a result of the customer’s personal circumstances, e.g. death or illness. All expenses occasioned by the changed circumstances event/s, including but not limited to unscheduled extensions or curtailment of accommodation, telephone and meal costs, etc, will be for the customer’s account.

5 Bookings shall be considered full and paid up once a final invoice has been issued and paid within 48 hours of the issuing of such an invoice. Should the invoice not be paid within this time, South African Secrets reserves the right to re-issue the invoice should there be an increase in foreign exchange rates, or any other related cost.

6 Prices quoted for packages are for cash settlements only or, bank transfer/bank deposit. South African Secrets does not include credit card transaction fees into quotations – ALL credit card payments are subject to a levy outlined by the operator.

7 The client acknowledges that the tour price and itinerary disclosed to him/her at the time of booking, or alternatively at the time that the contract was concluded, may be varied by South African Secrets from time to time, without notice to the client, at the discretion of South African Secrets and provided the itinerary is not substantially different from the itinerary that the client anticipated enjoying, the client shall not be entitled to cancel the contract.

8 The full amount due by the client to South African Secrets shall be payable not less than sixty days (60 day’s) prior to the date of departure. If the full amount is not paid in due time, South African Secrets reserves the right to treat the booking as cancelled. Bookings made within six weeks (6 weeks) of the departure date must be paid in full immediately.

9 The client acknowledges that it is his/her responsibility to ensure that he is possessed of the necessary travel documents that may be required in respect of the proposed tour and itinerary as well as all health and other certificates that may be required from time to time.

10 Save in the event of wilful misconduct or gross negligence by South African Secrets, neither South African Secrets nor its holding or parent company or representatives shall be liable for any loss, injury, death or damages, arising from the Tour.

11 In respect of any fuel surcharge and/or increase in entrance fees and/or government and/or regional levies and/or taxes; South African Secrets cannot guarantee these rates.

12 All information contained in the South African Secrets brochure/itinerary and price schedules are to the best of South African Secrets knowledge and belief true and correct, but South African Secrets accepts no liability for any errors/inaccuracies contained therein.

13 IT IS IMPERATIVE AND STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT GUESTS TAKE OUT COMPREHENSIVE TRAVEL INSURANCE - covering themselves for personal effects, personal accident, medical and emergency travel expenses, cancellation and curtailment.

14 It is of utmost importance that you thoroughly check your visa requirements before the intended date of travel, as South African Secrets cannot be held responsible should the necessary visa requirements not be fulfilled.

15 The client acknowledges that save and except for what has been stated herein, there exist no warranties, representations, guarantees, promises, undertaking or inducements of any nature whatsoever. Any matter or things said by any person on behalf of South African Secrets or on behalf of South African Secrets irrespective as to the position such person occupies, and which is not stated herein, shall not be binding on South African Secrets irrespective as to the nature and extent of any such things, and the client acknowledges that he/she has not relied on any matter or thing stated on behalf of South African Secrets that is not included herein.

16 The Association of Bonded Travel Organisers Trust Limited (ABTOT) provides financial protection under the Package Travel, Package Holidays and Package Tours Regulations 1992 for South African Secrets Limited and in the event of their insolvency, protection is provided for the following:

1 non-flight packages commencing in and returning to the UK;

2 non-flight packages commencing and returning to a country other than the UK; and

3 flight inclusive packages that commence outside of the UK, which are sold to customers outside of the UK.

17 1, 2 and 3 provides for a refund in the event you have not yet travelled. 1 and 3 provides for repatriation. Please note that bookings made outside the UK are only protected by ABTOT when purchased directly with South African Secrets Limited.
